Fast-food junkies having a fear of clowns may want to reconsider where they eat this Halloween.
Burger King is expecting to pull thousands of clowns to five restaurants that this Tuesday by providing each location's first 500 clown-clad guests a Whopper sandwich. The locations have been in Miami, Boston, Los Angeles, Austin and Salt Lake City (the particular addresses can be seen below). News of the deal came from the launch of a especially creepy YouTube movie that shows a guy being chased by the painted characters before he reaches a Burger King restaurant. Inside a sinister looking yellow and red-suited clown which resembles Ronald McDonald -- McDonald's mascot and Burger King's arch-rival met him. According to a press release by Burger King, clowns would be the third most sought-after Halloween costume this year, probably in part to the current release of Stephen King's horror movie "It." "We do not usually speak about clowns," said Alex Macedo, President of North America's Burger King group, in a statement. "However, for this particular Halloween, come dressed as a clown to eat like a king." The offer is Burger King's newest dig at its fast-food rival. Before this month, the restaurant snuck an advertisement into the credits of a screening of "It" in Germany to poke fun at McDonald's clown connection. Before the credits were going to roll at the end, a sign flashed up on the screen reading: "The moral is: Never trust a clown." Sinosauropteryx first strutted on the fossil landscape at 1996. Using its feather jacket that was fuzzy, it revolutionized indicating that dinosaurs had feathers.
Now the study on the species provides a image of its look: it sported a bandit mask around its eyes and a striped tail -- such as a raccoon. Paleontologists in the University of Bristol in England deciphered the dinosaur's coloring by assessing the plumage that was maintained in three Sinosauropteryx specimens. Their findings, published Thursday in the journal Current Biology, imply that these approximately 126-million-year-old, turkey-sized carnivores might have experienced a camouflage pattern of dark colours in their backs which sharply shifted to light colours near their stomach. This routine is like that of animals dwelling in surroundings that are open, on the Great Plains such as gazelles from pronghorns or even the savanna. "It indicates that the world of dinosaurs was not so crazily far from that which we could imagine now," explained Fiann Smithwick, a doctoral student in the University of Bristol and lead author of the analysis. A couple of years back, Mr. Smithwick's advisor, Jakob Vinther, went to China and took high resolution pictures of Sinosauropteryx specimens beneath especially polarized light, which brought out their colours. The feathers were full of melanin, the pigment that colours skin and our hair. It's a molecule that may endure in fossils for countless centuries and is resistant to rust. Mr. Smithwick mapped the pigmented feathers onto the fossils, discovering that the Sinosauropteryx had brown feathers covering its sides and back which stopped about halfway down its entire body. The remaining feathers were likely coloured. The colour pattern is a sort of camouflage called "countershading," and about the Sinosauropteryx the transition from dark to light occurred comparatively high on the human body. Mr. Smithwick explained that the routine could offer insight to the sort of environment in which the dinosaur lived. He made 3D versions of this dinosaur's colour shading and analyzed them under different kinds of lighting to determine where they'd work best as camouflage. He discovered that the routine was useful in surroundings that were open where sun is coming with very little interference from above. In addition, it retains its bottom in darkness when sun illuminates a creature's top, he explained. It follows that if it is being looked at by something, if or not a predator or prey, the creature is regarded as a three-dimensional thing. "Addressing it's going to require all of our attempt, and it'll require us to face the emergency in all of its real problems," Trump said during a speech at the East Room of the White House. "As Americans, we can't permit this to last," Trump said. "It is time to liberate our communities from the scourge. ... We are the generation that ends the opioid outbreak" Trump spoke in the White House which included relatives of those impacted by the catastrophe that was opioid, in addition to administration officials and leaders. The president, who stated "not 1 portion of American society was spared" in the catastrophe, stopped short of calling it a federal crisis, something that he previously promised he would do. The announcement follows weeks of debate. Trump himself has gone on record would announce the catastrophe a national crisis. Such a designation will enable countries to tap to the same funds reserved throughout the Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act for natural disasters such as hurricanes. Rather, a memo which directs acting Health and Human Services Secretary Eric Hargan to announce a public health emergency that directs agencies to provide grant money to fight the outbreak was signed by Trump. White House officials say the measure gives states flexibility in how they use federal funding to fight with the issue and helps cut. The designation will allow modifications like expanded access to services in rural locations. It doesn't make any extra funds. The emergency declaration will continue 90 days but may be revived. In 2015, 33,091 individuals died from opioid overdose, while 12.5 million individuals mistreated prescription opioids, based on the latest data available in the Department of Health and Human Services. Critics assert his government was slow to act, although Trump pledged to handle the emergency that was opioid on the campaign trail. A commission which in August advocated he announce the emergency a national crisis was produced by Trump. "Your announcement would enable your Cabinet to take bold measures and would induce Congress to concentrate on financing and enabling the executive branch even farther to handle this loss of life," that the Commission on Combating Drug Addiction and the Opioid Crisis wrote. "It would also wake every American into the very simple reality: If this scourge hasn't found you personally or your loved ones yet, without daring action by everybody, it shortly will." White House officials told reporters that there was a federal emergency declaration not necessary in the event of opioids. The general public health crisis will "reorient each of the federal authorities and executive branch funds toward focusing on providing relief for this urgent demand." Instances of public health crises include the flu outbreak in 2009. Considering that the commission published its report, Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price has resigned from his post while Trump's choice for drug czar, '' Rep. Tom Marino, withdrew his nomination. In an event in the Heritage Foundation before Thursday, Attorney General Jeff Sessions said it is very important to "revive the opinion that individuals must say no to drugs." "I really do think this entire nation needs not to be so lackadaisical about medications," he explained. "A lot of the dependence starts with bud. The election effectively handed Wall Street another triumph as the Trump government attempts to dismantle former President Barack Obama's heritage.
A 50-50 tie has been broken up by Vice President Mike Pence to overturn a step made by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau that restricted forced mediation clauses in the fine print of fiscal contracts. Such clauses illegal those who signed up for a new account in a bank to establish a class-action lawsuit against that association for unfair organization practices, requiring them to enter into private mediation where banks are a lot more prone to receive their way. Sens. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.), John McCain (R-Ariz.) and Bob Corker (R-Tenn.), who've amped up their criticism of the White House lately, such as Flake's announcement Tuesday that he wouldn't run for re-election, all voted to overturn the measure. Sens. Lindsey Graham and John Kennedy were the only two Republicans to vote for the step. Every Democrat voted to guard the CFPB regulation. It now heads to the office of President Donald Trump, who's expected to quickly sign it. The ban on mediation clauses, set to take effect in 2019 of the CFPB, would have given power to individual consumers and likely would have forced big banks to change their organization practices. "Tonight's vote is a giant setback for every customer in this country," Richard Cordray, manager of the CFPB, stated in an announcement acquired by The New York Times. "As a consequence, companies such as Wells Fargo and Equifax stay free to violate the law without fear of legal blowback from their clients." Democrats were against the repeal of this step, which was composed in July from the CFPB as a part of its campaign. "Forced mediation takes away power from normal people and provides it to large banks and Wall Street businesses that currently have an unfair advantage," Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) said in a statement. "By voting to take away rights from clients, the Senate voted tonight to side with Wells Fargo lobbyists on the folks we serve." Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) slammed the election because of an assault on the working class during his remarks on the room floor late Tuesday. "How dreadful, how dreadful that individuals might be able to come together and hire an attorney," Schumer said. "A yes vote is stating that you feel that Americans who have taken advantage of do not possess the right to seek refuge. A yes vote informs rapacious financial institutions that they can continue to hose customers with no severe consequences or liability since most of us know average people can't go to court by themselves and sue." Claims abound that apple cider vinegar is a magical cure-all that can enable you to do everything from eliminating fat to controlling acne. Others assert that drinking a daily dose of apple cider vinegar may help you live longer. However, is the hype about apple cider vinegar real? Let's have a look. What is Apple Cider Vinegar? Apple cider vinegar, which is also referred to as ACV, is an amber-colored vinegar made from crushed apples. Many considered it to be a health- and - a money-saving panacea. The father of modern medicine, Hippocrates, even used vinegar to cure his patients. It's odd to think that thousands of years apples were not used as food. Smithsonian Magazine reports that until recently, apples were too bitter to be palatable. Rather, people pressed on the fruit to make juice and left it to ferment and become apple cider vinegar, or apple cider. Vinegar, including apple cider vinegar, was used since the dawn of time since an organic folk remedy. The ancient Egyptians used vinegar in healing and food prep, dating as far back as 3,000 B.C, where vinegar residue has been found on the interior of urns. It had been believed a strengthening tonic for soldiers, who had been recommended to drink the decent health to be maintained by it. The term "vinegar" originated in the French words "vin" and "aigre", which means "sour wine." It can be reached from an array of carbohydrates and of course, apples. Any alcoholic beverage can turn into vinegar. When the beverage is exposed to the atmosphere, by turning the alcohol into acetic 24, bacteria can get in and begin the fermentation process. Give it enough time, and you're going to have a bottle of vinegar on your hands. Types of Apple Cider Vinegar Head out to the grocery store and you see two types of apple cider vinegar: filtered and pasteurized, and unfiltered and unpasteurized. Filtered apple cider vinegar and pasteurized will probably be pure and golden in color. It is going to be expensive. Unfiltered and apple cider vinegar will look, and there will probably be a layer of sediment in the base of the bottle. This is because unfiltered apple cider vinegar still contains "the mom," that is a web of cellulose and bacteria that help the apple cider become vinegar. Most commonly, unfiltered and unpasteurized apple cider vinegar is natural. The only difference between both is the existence of "the mommy." Deciding which type of apple cider vinegar to use is challenging, because there is no answer. Some people today believe that "the mother" is rich in beneficial enzymes and enzymes, both of which can be destroyed in the pasteurization process. You will pay a bit more for this, although you can use unpasteurized, unfiltered ACV to make your vinegar at home. If you would like to get the total benefits of apple cider vinegar, steer clear of any brands that say "apple cider" on the tag. This means that they used apple juice, not apples, so you might as well be drinking straight vinegar for all of the good. It's also advisable to search for apple cider vinegar that's made in Europe or the United States. There are but there you better off sticking with ACV, since regulations are much looser. You may receive vinegar that is richer or better if it's made in a country where apples are developed, for example, California, Michigan, New York, Pennsylvania, Washington, or Virginia. There are many locally-made ACVs which you may discover online, as well as at farmer's markets in such states. Last, it is relatively simple to create your apple cider vinegar. If you need to determine what to do with them and examine a basket of local apples at u-pick farm or your farmer's market, look at producing your vinegar. This tutorial from Wellness Mama is easy and straightforward. Best Strategies to Utilize Apple Cider Vinegar The benefits of some of the apple cider vinegar are backed by modern science, while others are only hype. Here are the best uses for apple cider vinegar that can allow you to save money and live a wholesome lifestyle. 1. Control Blood Sugar Apple cider vinegar shows promise. A study printed in Pharmaceutical Sciences discovered that apple cider vinegar has a significant impact in reducing blood glucose levels in diabetic mice. Another study conducted by investigators at Arizona State University and published by the American Diabetes Association (ADA) found that apple cider vinegar raised insulin sensitivity to some high-carbohydrate meals in patients with Type 2 diabetes. It may also slow or stop Type 2 diabetes in individuals at risk. Incorporating apple cider vinegar in your diet, especially by ingesting it mixed with water before a meal, can help control your diabetes and help you rely less on prescription medication over time. And because consumption of apple cider vinegar may delay or prevent the illness, it could have an impact on your long-term wellbeing. 2. Eliminate Heartburn One research conducted by a graduate student at Arizona State University found that apple cider vinegar may be effective in reducing heartburn. Though the study was small (only 15 participants), it turned out to be a placebo-controlled, double-blind study, that is the gold-standard for scientific study. Since it will help balance your stomach's pH by neutralizing stomach 22, Apple cider vinegar may be effective for managing heartburn symptoms. Stomach acid causes some heartburn, rather than too much. Also ACV will help alleviate this problem. Yes, apple cider is an acid (which might make you believe that consuming it would make heartburn symptoms worse). But when it is consumed, apple cider vinegar becomes alkaline. Another advantage is that because apple cider vinegar raises the rate that your stomach digests food, bloating can be reduced by it. Apple cider vinegar may not work for every person to control heartburn symptoms. However, if it will work for you, using ACV instead of over-the-counter drugs could save you money, and decrease side effects. 3. Shed Weight Apple cider vinegar might also be a healthy addition to your diet if you're attempting to eliminate fat. A study printed in the Journal of Agriculture and Food Chemistry found that acetic acid (the important component in all vinegar, including ACV) helped mice eating a high-fat diet create less overall body fat. A second study, published in the journal Bioscience, Biotechnology, and Biochemistry, analyzed the effects of acetic acid on individual participants. They found that after 12 weeks, "body fat, BMI, visceral fat area, waist circumference, and serum triglyceride levels were significantly lower in the vinegar intake groups than in the placebo group." In this study, participants consumed either 15 ml or 30 ml of vinegar. It's important to keep in mind that both of these studies examined the effects of acid, which is found in most vinegar. Other vinegar, such as red or balsamic wine, might also help you lose weight if you do not enjoy the flavor of apple cider vinegar. 4. Clean Fresh Produce Applying apple cider vinegar to clean fresh produce can be much more powerful or perhaps those vegetable washes found in the produce section. A study written in the International Journal of Food Microbiology discovered that a mixture of vinegar and lemon juice decreased Salmonella typhimurium on new veggies to undetectable levels. To get the most benefits, mix apple cider vinegar and lemon juice (in a 1:1 ratio) in a little spray bottle. Produce, let it sit 15 minutes, then wash. 5. Clean Your House Apple cider vinegar is a great natural cleanser since it's safe for your family. It will not release harmful gasses into the air (known as "off-gassing") like most industrial products. Apple cider vinegar will also save you money because it is possible to use sections of your house to clean. ACV has powerful antimicrobial features. One study found vinegar to be particularly effective in preventing bacterial food poisoning, which makes it a fantastic cleaner for the countertops. You can mix apple cider vinegar with a lot of different ingredients to increase its cleansing energy or simply give it a more pleasant smell: lemon juice, alcohol, and salt are all excellent choices. Use a 1:1 proportion of vinegar and water to make a cleanser. But do not mix apple cider vinegar with baking soda if you don't would like to unclog a drain; the baking soda will negatively influence the ACV's antifungal properties and make it less effective. Here are additional ways you can use apple cider vinegar as a natural cleaner:
6. Treat Poison Ivy and Psoriasis You know how itchy the rash can get for days, or even weeks if you've ever wandered into a patch of poison ivy. Some of them are costly, although there are many treatments for poison ivy. As an example, one box of poison ivy wash that is Zanfel will cost you approximately $35. A less costly option is to try apple cider vinegar. It works by removing the itching and quickly drying the rash. Using ACV, lightly dab a small amount on your rash with a Q-tip. Let it dry completely, then reapply a couple of minutes later. The more apple cider vinegar you use, the quicker your rash will heal. Because of its drying effect, the National Psoriasis Foundation states that apple cider vinegar may also be useful for treating psoriasis. I have psoriasis in my knees and use apple cider vinegar to wash out the area and relieve itching. It functions as efficiently at a fraction of the price I was using as the expensive lotion. Keep in mind that applying apple cider vinegar to open sores because of poison ivy, or psoriasis can lead to burning. Consider diluting it with water in a 1:1 ratio to reduce skin irritation. 7. Cure Hiccups
Then you know that the taste is somewhat shocking if you've ever tasted directly apple cider vinegar. The shock factor is behind the standing as a hiccup eliminator that is proven of ACV. 13-year-old in Connecticut, and Mallory Kievman, even used this remedy to start an organization. She devised apple cider vinegar lollipops, known as Hiccupops, and they have one goal: curing hiccups. She advised the New York Times that the vinegar overstimulates the nerves at the back of the mouth, and cancels out the hiccup response. Next time you've got hiccups that just won't go away, try a snapshot of ACV and see what happens. Your body simply may be shocked into silence. 8. Heal a Sore Throat Apple cider vinegar may be an effective cure for sore throats. Bacteria can not survive in environments, and when you gargle with apple cider vinegar that's just what you create in the back of your throat. A fantastic mixture vinegar mixed with 1/4 cup of water. Gargle for this at least an hour. You may also try combining one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar with one tablespoon of salt in a glass of warm water. 9. Alleviate Itchy Bug Bites Apple cider can be effective at relieving the itchiness from insect bites mosquito bites. The reason is that it helps restore and balance your skin's pH level. To use ACV for insect bites, simply dab on some of the vinegar onto your skin. You can pour two cups and go for a long soak. How to Use Apple Cider Vinegar If you want to start integrating apple cider vinegar in your lifestyle, one simple way to consume it's in a salad dressing. There are numerous recipes on the internet that combine apple cider vinegar with olive oil, shallots, honey, fresh herbs, and mustard (which could help hold the oil and vinegar together). You might even drink apple cider vinegar you should mix it. Drinking vinegar that is straight isn't tasty, and it is not good for teeth, esophagus, or your throat. I love to drink unfiltered, unpasteurized apple cider vinegar mixed with water (one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in eight ounces of water). It tastes like apple juice that is watered-down, and its nice taste helps me remain hydrated during the day. Drinking a glass of apple cider vinegar mixed with water before a meal may allow you to eat less. Taken after a meal, then it might decrease your craving for something sweet. Try mixing one teaspoon of honey and one teaspoon of ACV with eight ounces of plain water. You can add other spices such as turmeric, red pepper, ginger, or a little bit of salt. There are lots of apple cider vinegar "tea" concoctions online, so experiment and find a combination you prefer. Another possibility is to combine apple cider vinegar in with a smoothie. Some people claim that apple cider vinegar is beneficial to get whitening your teeth. Putting apple cider vinegar on your toothbrush, or utilizing it as a mouth rinse that is fast, can help remove surface stains. Since it prevents tooth decay, on the other hand, the apple cider vinegar will do more harm than good. Another claim is that apple cider vinegar is successful for cleansing wounds. I don't know whether you splashed on vinegar, but it burns like fire. Soap and water are equally as successful, and won't reduce you to tears. Last Word Apple cider vinegar is a tool for saving money and living a more healthy life. It is not a cure-all for every ill, and many of the most-touted benefits of ACV aren't endorsed by science; nonetheless, that does not mean that they do not work. For example, because I started drinking apple cider vinegar I've found my skin is in and more rosy health. I know exactly what I see in the mirror every morning, although I could not find any evidence to prove apple cider vinegar is a boon for the skin.
